Biden: Jimmy Carter Asked Him To Deliver His Eulogy

On Monday night, President Biden announced that Jimmy Carter had asked him to give the eulogy at his funeral.

Jimmy Carter, the 39th president and the oldest president in American history, has been receiving hospice care at his home in Georgia.

During a fundraiser in California on Monday night, Mr. Biden said, "He asked me to conduct his eulogy — pardon me, I shouldn't say that.

Carter had "spent time" with Mr. Biden, who claimed that Carter's disease had "finally caught up with him."

At the fundraiser on Monday, Mr. Biden, whose son Beau passed away from brain cancer in 2015, spoke about cancer and mentioned Carter's prior battle with the illness

After a string of brief hospital stints, the Carter Center reported in February that the former president of the United States has "chosen to spend his remaining time at home with his family.

He had surgery in 2019 to relieve pressure that a subdural hematoma had placed on his brain. After a string of falls, he was recently admitted to the hospital as well.

Jason Carter, the former president's grandson, stated that his grandfather was looking forward to turning 98 with "confidence in God's plan for him."
